Annual Report
of St Ives Football 2008 Season.
The attached
financial statement forms part of this report.
Training
2008
saw the club introduce a new focus on training with the Kick-Start professional
coaching available to all non-competition players and similar professional
training at St Ives High School available to all our junior competition teams.
The club also trialled a program of subsidised specialised training for two
teams.
Growth
The
club continued its growth in 2008 with 896 players in 2008. This growth was in
contrast to many neighbouring clubs and made us the 4th largest club
in our association. I credit this growth to the hard work and dedication of our
many volunteers. That other surrounding clubs experienced little growth or
decline in numbers probably indicates that we will experience challenges in
2009.
Of particular
note is our under 10’s teams. With 1o teams in total, this is the most of any
club in KDSA.
Finances
Net profit for
the year was a loss of $1500.
Total income
for the year grew by $22,000 to $194,754 based on increased player numbers and
use of high interest account to maximise income. Expenses grew as the club spent
significantly more on new playing strip and equipment as well as the cost of the
training programs.
The club has
established a sinking fund to be used for capital works, this will hold funds
gained from sources such as social functions.
Over the
2008/2009 summer, the club has organised a 5-a side competition for U8/U9
players. Money collected for this competition as at 30 August is shown as a
liability. Profit from this competition shall be included in the 2008/9
financial reports.
Results
Teams from U11 and above play in competitions where results are recorded. It was
a fabulous year for so many teams it is hard to highlight some above others
however I will mention a few.
